A lot of athletes try to get rid of that feeling.

They think as they improve, nerves will disappear.

They assume confidence means feeling calm, relaxed, and completely in control.

But here’s the truth:

Pressure doesn’t go away.

It shows up when the moment has weight.

  • Something to lose

  • Something to prove

  • Something you care about

What Pressure Reveals

Pressure has a way of exposing things quickly.

If you’re prepared, you settle in.

Not perfectly—but enough to trust what you’ve done.

You lean on your work.
You compete.

If you’re not prepared, it feels different.

  • Chaotic

  • Rushed

  • Hard to stay in control

That’s why pressure isn’t the problem.

It’s feedback.
